Appointment of bishop of Greensburg, U.S.A.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Greensburg, United States of America, Msgr. Larry J. Kulick, of the clergy of the same diocese, until now diocesan administrator and parish priest of the Saint James parish in New Alexandria.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Larry J. Kulick was born on 24 February 1966 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, in the diocese of Pittsburgh. He attended the Saint Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA, and was awarded a bachelor’s degree in philosophy (1988) and a master’s degree in theology (1992).  He subsequently obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America in Washington (2012).

He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Greensburg on 16 May 1992.

Since priestly ordination he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Irwin (1995-1997); parish priest of the Good Shepherd parish in Kent (1997-2004) and the Saint Joseph parish in New Kensington (2004-2008); master of ceremonies and co-director of vocations (2008-2012); vicar general and moderator of the Curia, judge and defender of the bond at the tribunal, and parish priest of the Saint James Parish in New Alexandria (from 2012 to the present). He has served as a member of the Administrative Committee of the Catholic Conference of Pennsylvania and chaplain of the council of Catholic women. He was elected diocesan administrator of Greensburg on 15 September 2020.
